UPGRADE GUIDE
E. SOLUTIONS FOR MAN EDC17 ENGINES

The EDC17 is the newest engine control unit used on many MAN common-rail marine engines. It is essentially the electronic brain of the engine, controlling and supervising key engine functions such as fuel injection, operating parameters, diagnostics, and protection logic.
In a vessel system, the EDC17 manages the engine itself, while systems such as MAN iSea and present that information to the operator, making the data easier to monitor, understand, and integrate with the rest of the vessel.
Böning engine displays and interface modules are compatible with the latest MAN EDC17 engine electronics, making it possible to modernize the vessel’s monitoring system while expanding functionality beyond the original engine display.
